Bless Me Ultima book review

This is my second book review on my blog. If you haven't already, go check out my first book review, The Hunger Games Catching Fire. The title of this book is called Bless Me Ultima. I will try avoiding as many spoilers as possible for those who haven't read it yet.

Bless Me Ultima takes place in Santa Rosa New Mexico, and the main character is a six year old boy named Antonio Marez. He has three older brothers, two younger sisters. An old woman named Ultima comes to live in the Marez house because she needs someone to take care of her. Antonio's mother is very close to Ultima, and she offered Ultima to come and stay with them.

Ultima isn't just any old woman, she knows how to cure spells and break curses, which is why a man named Tenorio wants to execute her. There countless parts in the story when Tenorio makes an effort to try to harm Ultima but eventually gets caught in the act.

Although the core of the book focuses on the Marez family trying to avoid conflicts with Tenorio, Ultima and Antonio develop a great bonding and are almost like best friends despite their age difference.

I would rate Bless Me Ultima an 8/10 because the first few chapters aren't very engaging which makes it very easy for the reader to loose the grip. After crossing a certain point though, the book becomes very engrossing and makes you want to know what happens next.

Thanks for reading, if there are any other books or movies you want me to review, let me know in the comments!
