Playboi Carti

Recently I wrote an article about music and my opinions regarding it. I also said I would be writing a blog about one of my favorite musical artists. I would highly recommend reading it before this. Now, lets learn a little about someone who I look up to!

My favorite musical artist is Jordan Terrell Carter, better known as Playboi Carti. Playboi Carti has earned himself a huge name in the rap and hip hop community. He has such unique beats and flow it could make anybody fall in love with his music. Playboi Carti has three albums. Self Titled, Die Lit, and Whole Lotta Red. Personally speaking, my favorite is Whole Lotta Red, however all three albums have songs which are absolutely out of this world.

Jordan Terrell Carter was born on September 13 1996 and grew up in Georgia. Fun fact, September 13 1996 was the exact same day Tupac died! Carter went to North Springs High School, however he did not pay much attention to his studies. Although his parents wanted him to pursue an education, he had dreams of shooting hoops. The famous rapper was very fond of basketball however he got into a fight with his coach which resulted in him leaving the court. A hobby Carter adopted was rapping. Of course at the time he did not work with producers such as Pierre Bourne, however he knew this was something he would like. At the age of 15, he made his first track "Cry" on garageband. Carter would frequently miss or even skip classes intentionally just to work on his tracks. Now to state something not many people know, Playboi Carti's first rap name was Sir Cartier. In 2015, Sir Cartier dropped "Broke boi" which really blew him up. Playboi Carti became an official rapper when he dropped his first album, "Playboi Carti" on April 14 2017. It was a self titled album. Then on May 11 2018, Playboi Carti dropped Die Lit, which ended up becoming his best album. Finally on December 25 2020, Playboi Carti dropped his latest album, Whole Lotta Red. This Album is not like any other album of his or any other rapper. All 24 tracks on Red hold a different vibe to them as some songs sound like audio leaks from the dungeons of hell (in a good way) and others sound like they've been produced by a prophet in heaven.

Just as any other musical artist would, the Playboi Carti fan base is given a name. 'Vamps'. This is because Carti grew up listening to punk rock type rap.

To conclude this blog, I would humbly request you guys to check out all three albums as you may find something you like! If you want me to do more reviews on rappers and other musical artists, let me know in the comments.
