My Thoughts On Online School

When I say "online learning", I am not talking about just students, the term "online learning" is something we all have gotten awfully familiar to for the past year. It is a fact that students fall into the category of one of the most affected by online learning. I would like to share my thoughts and give some personal feedback about what I think of this new phase of our lives.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the chances of school, workplaces, and any sort of gatherings came to a stop. I was in 8th grade when the coronavirus starting disseminating all over the world. Although the rest of the school year was just an unorganized pile of assignments, the 2020-2021 school year will be far more organized.

Lets start off with the easiest part to talk about. Waking up, opening up the laptop and staring into a computer screen for the next 7 hours. 7 hours of screen and only two breaks is not something we should have to go through. Especially for the younger age groups such as kindergarteners, this is an excessive use of screen and is very harmful to the eyes. Put that aside, online school is much less productive that in person school and undoubtedly much harder.

A number of students doze off during online classes and it isn't their fault. Of course this is a terrible way of learning (in my opinion) the teachers aren't the ones to blame either. They are also working very hard to make this possible and they aren't enjoying this any more than we are.

It has almost been a whole school year like this, 3-4 months left. I really hope we can go back to in person school  for the next school year, but of course it won't be like it was for quite a long time.
