Christmas Break of 2021 part 1 "Exploring Minnesota"

I personally love traveling, who doesn't? Who doesn't like a few days off from their daily work life to rejuvenate their thoughts and enjoy life? On December 17 2021, my family and I went for a two week vacation. We traveled to three different states, Minnesota, New York, and New Jersey. I want to share this story on my blog, however it will be quite difficult to cram a story of 13 days into one blog, so I will break it into two parts. Enjoy!

December 17, 9:45pm, a friend of my father arrived at our house to drive us to the airport. Our destination is Minneapolis Minnesota, from San Francisco International airports which will be a three hour flight. We reacher the airport at around 10:30 and boarded the flight at 12:30. Ever since I was a kid, I was always fascinated by airplanes (I still am). The process of how planes takeoff, land, navigate, all of it seems intriguing to me. I was constantly taking pictures of the beautiful scenery 35,000 feet above ground. There were clouds of different shapes and sizes scattered over the far reaching sky. In a blink of an eye, the plane started descending, slowly revealing the place I would be calling home for the next 4 days. After landing we started heading towards the baggage claim section of the airport, and while I was getting our bags from the belt, my father informed us that my uncle is 5 minutes away from the airport. We are going to be staying at my cousin's house
I think I underestimated the weather of Minneapolis up until the moment I set foot outside the airport. All I had on were sweatpants, and normal t-shirt and a hoodie. It was so cold to the extent that the cold weather in California felt puny. After what felt like an hour of waiting (although it was just a couple of minutes), I spotted the white Honda pilot pulling up. I quickly rushed into the car as I could not feel my legs anymore, and greeted my uncle. After all family meeting rituals (as I like to call it), we started heading for my cousins house.
It felt great to see my cousin after two long years. Judging by the smirk on his face, I knew we were about to make some memorable memories for the next four days. My youngest cousin, Ishaan, plays ice hockey and had practice so I decided to tag along and watch what he does. Believe me when I say this, ice skating is not a joke, its exponentially harder than what ice skaters make it look like. I probably wouldn't last even 10 seconds without holding on to something. After his practice, we decided to spend some time in the basement as there was a pool table, table tennis, a mini gym which was great news to me (I am a firm believer in fitness). That night we went to go see the new spiderman movie in the theatres and it was epic. Don't worry, I am not going to spoil what happens for those who haven't watched it yet. After the movie ended we went to a little Christmas theme park which was absolutely beautiful.
The next day was incredible as the first thing I noticed when I woke up was that it was snowing. I had never woke up to snow my whole life, it felt amazing. Later that day we went sleding and I learned a couple of tricks from my cousins. We didn't do much the rest of the day as we were pretty tired. That night I did watch a movie called 'Sooryavanshi' which was absolutely worth it. I love Indian movies.
Our time in Minnesota was slowly coming to an end as it was my last day there. That day my family and I went out to see some frozen lakes and even walked on some of them. I felt like the ice would break and we'd all fall into the freezing cold water. That evening our whole family went to a beautiful indoor waterpark. It was probably my favorite thing in Minnesota. There were huge waterslides and a flowing river with warm water where we can just have the time of our lives.

I will never forget my time in Minnesota. It is truly a wonderful place with wonderful things to see and learn, I hope to come back soon.

Here I will conclude part one of my Christmas break, "Exploring Minnesota". Stay tuned for the next part of the blog where I will venture the depths of New York. Subscribe to my blog if you haven't already, thank you!
